Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: 19 August 2026

This statement applies to the Purple Post website at www.purple-post.com, which is run by Made Purple Ltd.

Staying in touch with someone in prison matters to everyone, so we want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. That means you should be able to:

  • navigate the whole site using only a keyboard
  • zoom in up to 400% without content disappearing or needing to scroll sideways
  • switch to dark mode if lighter screens are uncomfortable to read
  • read the site with a screen reader or other assistive technology
  • skip straight past the navigation to the main content of each page

AbilityNet's My Computer My Way has advice on making your device easier to use if you have a disability.

How accessible this website is

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA. This website is partially conformant with that standard. "Partially conformant" means some parts of the site do not yet fully meet it.

We know about the following problems and are working on them:

  • The "I am human" security check on our contact and registration forms is provided by a third party (hCaptcha). Some people using a keyboard or a screen reader may find it difficult to complete, and we cannot change how it behaves. If it stops you submitting a form, please email us instead and we will deal with your request that way.
  • The table of cookies on our Cookies Policy page has five columns and needs to be scrolled sideways on a small screen. The same information is described in the text around it.
  • Our live chat window is provided by a third party. If you cannot use it, you can reach the same team by email or through our contact form.
  • We have not yet completed formal testing with screen readers such as NVDA and VoiceOver. That testing is planned, and this statement will be updated with what it finds.

Information in other formats

If you need anything on this website in a different format, such as large print, easy read, plain text or audio, please contact us and tell us what you need. We will do what we can to help.

Reporting accessibility problems

We are always looking to improve. If you find a problem that is not listed above, or you think we are not meeting the requirements, please tell us so we can put it right.

Use our contact form or email support@madepurple.com. It helps if you can tell us:

  • the web address of the page where you found the problem
  • what you were trying to do
  • what device, browser or assistive technology you were using

We will look into it and let you know what we plan to do.

If you are not happy with our response

Service providers in the UK have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people. If you contact us about an accessibility problem and you are not happy with how we respond, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which gives free advice on discrimination and human rights issues.

How we tested this website

This website was last tested in August 2026. We ran automated WCAG 2.2 checks across all public pages, and carried out manual keyboard navigation, colour contrast and browser zoom checks. Testing was carried out by Made Purple Ltd.

This statement was prepared on 19 August 2026 and is reviewed whenever we make significant changes to the site.
