Our Story
Purple Post is part of the Made Purple family, which also operates Purple Visits, a video visiting platform serving prisons and secure hospitals across the UK.
Through Purple Visits, we heard the same story again and again: "We love being able to see each other on video calls, but we can't afford to stay in touch between visits. The email services are just too expensive."
We realized there was a fundamental problem: the cost of digital messaging was pricing out the families who needed it most. We knew we could do better.
That's why we created Purple Post, an affordable messaging service that works alongside existing communication methods. We negotiated with prisons, streamlined the technology and focused on one goal: making family connection accessible to everyone.
Today, Purple Post serves families at HMP Parc, HMP Five Wells and HMP Rye Hill. We're working hard to expand to more prisons across the UK.
